Registration

ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A TEAM

Missing tryouts?

If you are unable to attend tryouts, you still MUST REGISTER so you can be considered for placement on a team.

  • If you elect to not register and do not attend tryouts, you risk not being placed on a team.

  • If you decide at a later time (ex: April) that you would like to play soccer and wish to be considered for placement on a PVU team, you will still pay the tryout fee and be evaluated for placement if there is roster space in the team.

New to PVU? Players coming from the PVU Rec Program or are new to PVU and will be missing tryouts. Still register so we know you would like to play. If there is roster space after the tryouts, we will have you attend a team practice for an evaluation.

Attendance

Player attendance at both tryout sessions is essential and gives your player the best chance for PVU coaches to assess their on-field performance effectively and increases their chances of being placed on the appropriate level team.

Attending just 1 of the tryout dates is still beneficial although it may impact PVU coaches ability to effectively asses their ability.

Not attending tryouts may affect your player's opportunity to secure a spot on a team or at the level they wish to achieve.

Returning PVU players who miss tryouts, we will use your coach's evaluation from the previous season for team placement.

Age Group Information - '24-'25 Season

2017-2015 (U9-U10)

2017-2015 | PVUFC offers 2 separate seasons; Fall 2024 and Summer 2025.

The July tryouts are designed to form teams for players participating in the Fall 2024 season which runs from mid-August to mid-October.

Tryouts for the Summer 2025 season are held at the end of January 2025.

Tryouts determine if a player should be selected for the Academy Program. If selected, they are placed in the Academy Program and are guaranteed placement on a team for the upcoming season.

Fall: Players are further evaluated in the first few practices and then placed in a "Pool Group" and team based on ability.

Summer: Players are further evaluated in the first month of practices and then placed in a "Pool Group" and team based on ability.

There are 3 potential ability groups - Red, White, & Blue.

More information on the Academy Program can be found here  - https://www.parkvalleyunitedfc.org/u9-u10-academy

2014 & 2013 (U11 & U12)

2014 & 2013 | PVUFC offers 2 separate seasons; Fall 2024 and Summer 2025.

The July tryouts are designed to form teams for players participating in the Fall 2024 season which runs from mid-August to mid-October.

Tryouts for the Summer 2025 season are held at the end of January 2025 and are designed to form teams for players participating in the Summer 2025 season which runs from February to mid-July.

2012 & 2011 (U13 & U14)

IMPORTANT! For the 2012 (U13) & 2011 (U14) age groups, there is only ONE (1) tryout and that is the July tryout.

The July tryouts are designed to form teams playing in the Summer 2025 AND Fall 2024 seasons.

You should attend this tryout to be placed on a team for the '24-'25 season. There is NOT a tryout in January for summer '25 like at the U9-U12 age groups.

For NPL and Regional level teams (At 2012 and 2011 birth years) - to be considered for the team, players have to play both the fall and summer seasons. They cannot play for their high school's B-Squad, JV or varsity team, per MSHSL rules.

What about High School Soccer for my 2012 or 2011 player? Players who participate on their high school’s 9th grade/Freshman team CAN play for both their 9th grade/freshman high school team AND PVU during the fall season. Parents should be aware that high school practices & games are Monday-Friday so it will be a lot to ask of your son/daughter to do both high school and PVU in the fall. Players CANNOT play on their high school’s 10th grade/B-Squad, JV or Varsity team and for PVU during the fall season. This is per MSHSL rules. PVU are asking players to choose their PVU club team who are in 7th & 8th grade.

Again, this is for NPL or Regional League teams only.

State & Cities level teams (at 2012 and 2011 birth years) - players will have 3 season options to select from: Summer & Fall, Summer Only, Fall Only. At the July tryout, we will select the teams for the summer season based on ability. Players who select Summer & Fall and Summer Only will be evaluated and considered for the team.

Players selecting Fall Only will still need to try out. If there is room on a team and the player meets the ability-based criteria, they will be placed on the team for the fall season. If they are not placed on a team, their tryout registration fee will be refunded.

What about the fall season for State and Cities level teams? If enough players choose the Summer & Fall option, the team will also play in the fall season. If we need to fill out a roster, then those who selected Fall Only will be considered for the team for the fall season.

We will try our best to form fall teams including looking at combining teams and age groups.

2010-2007 (U14-U18)

2010-2007 | The July tryouts are designed to form teams for the Summer 2025 season.

There is no fall season at these ages due to high school soccer.

NPL Teams begin training in November after the high school season.

Regional, State & Cities level teams begin training in February. Players can participate in the Winter Training Program in Nov-Jan to improve their technical skills.
